Samosa Varaki (Layered Samosa)

      For For Dough
  • All Purpose Flour2 1/2 cup extra for flooring
  • SaltTo Taste
  • Water1 cup
    1. For For Filling
  • Cooked Ground Meat or Soya Granules ( i used soya)1 cup
  • Onion3 chopped
  • Black Pepper 1 Teaspoon
  • Oil2 Tablespoons
  • Butter Melted1/4 cup
  • Dry Garlic and oregano2 Tablespoons


  1. For the filling, heat oil and stir fry the onion then combine well the ground meat or soya with chopped onions, salt and spices.
  2. To make dough, add warm water and salt to sifted flour, knead for 5 minutes then let stand for an hour. Divide the dough into four and roll out dough into 3-4 mm (1/8 in) layers and grease surface with melted butter. Roll up the dough tightly forming a log, and let it cool at fridge for 30-40 minutes. Cut log into 1 inch pieces and place on their flat sides. Roll out into small flat rounds. Place a spoonful of filling in the center, pinch edges around the filling forming oval pastry, and completely enclose the mixture and bake for 20-30 minutes or until lightly brown.
  3. Remove from oven and brush it with butter then sprinkle some dry garlic & oregano on them and serve.
