Green Gram Stuffed Flat Bread (Maash Puri)

      For Dough
  • Flour 2 1/4 cups
  • Baking Powder1/2 Teaspoon
  • Egg1
  • Oil2 Tablespoons
  • Water3/4 cup
  • Salt1/2 Teaspoon
  • OilFor Deep Frying
    1. For Filling
  • Moong Bean or Green Gram 1 cup
  • Black Pepper1/2 Teasppon
  • SaltTo Taste
  • Chopped Onion (optional)


  1. Dough : Combine egg, oil  salt with water and add slowly the flour , baking powder to make dough. Knead for sometime and let it rest for 15 -20 minutes.
  2. Filling : Wash and soak Green Gram over night.
  3. Strain and cook adding water salt until soft. When Green Gram is soft strain using strainer. Then add salt , pepper and mix.
  4. Preparation: Now make small balls from dough. Take a ball and roll out round and thin using rolling pin. Place a tablespoon of green bean mixture in center, fold three sides of round rolled dough to center to make a triangle and seal .( use little water to seal well). See pictures.
  5. Heat oil and deep fry both side until lightly golden brown.

Note : Serve hot it tastes better and crunchy, not cold.
