Bolani Gandana

Bolani Gandana, is a delicious dish! Gandana (Nira Herb or Chinese Leek) is the key to this dish.Bolani is a traditional dish from Afghanistan and people make it in gatherings with family. They make fire and around the fire, they cook Bolani together and serve it while hot.

  • Dough For Bolani Check
  • Nira Herb (Chinese Leek) Gandana1/2 a Bunch
  • Sea Salt1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder 1 Teaspoon
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil1-2 Tablespoons
  • Sesame Oil For cooking1/2 Cup


  • Cut the Nira Herb (Chinese Leek)into small pieces and wash well. Add pepper, salt, and oil and combine them well. Set aside.
  • Check for the Dough for Bolani At
  • Now, make small balls from the dough. Take one ball of dough and roll it out using a rolling pin flat and round.
  • Take a little amount of leek mixture and place it on half side of the rolled dough, and fold another half to close and seal the leek mixture to make a half moon.
  • Transfer the Bolani to a hot pan and add some Sesame oil to the pan.
  • Cook the Bolani until lightly brown then flip it to cook the other side.
