Rice ( Dam Pokht)

Ingredients

  • Rice long grained 4 cups
  • Oil1/2 cup or you use less
  • Cumin powder1 teaspoon
  • Cinnemon Powder1 teaspoon
  • Tomato5 grated
  • SaltTo taste
  • Water



Instructions

  • Wash the rice well and soak it for 4 hours. (i soak it over night and cook it next day)
  • Blend well the tomatoes in blender.
  • Heat oil add the tomato and cook it well till the tomato separates from oil.
  • Add cumin powder, cinnamon powder, salt, some water and strained rice.
  • Add more water, the water should be 1/2 inch above the rice.
  • Bring it to boil.
  • When it boils.
  • Cover the lid with a thick cotton all around well.
  • Now cover the pot of rice with the cotton covered lid well to not let the steam go out.
  • Cook the rice for 30 minutes at low flame heat.
  • Ready.
