Dal Soup with Bread (Dal Pati)

Ingredients

  • Dal /Lentils1/4 cup
  • Onion, finely chopped1
  • Tomato , Finely chopped2
  • Garlic, minced1 Head
  • Turmeric Powder1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red Chili Powder1/2 Teaspoon
  • Oil4 Tablespoons
  • Water1 cup
  • Salt To taste
  • Bread
  • Onion



Instructions

  1. In one Tablespoon of oil cook onion and tomato for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add washed lentils , salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and 1 cup of water, then cook the lentils in a pressure cooker  for 5 minutes or until Dal is done.
  3. Now add another cup of water and  cook it for 5 minutes and keep stir it.( it should look like soup)
  4. In a pan, heat oil, then add grated garlic and cook to lightly brown.  Add the cooked garlic to lentil soup.
  5. Crumble some bread and place it into a bowl, then pour the lentil soup on crumbled bread. Break one onion with your fest and serve the Dal Pati with breaking onion.
