Dal (Lentil)

Ingredients

  • Lentil1 cup
  • Tomato4 - 6 (i love more tomatoes in lentil)
  • Garlic2 Tablespoons, Grated
  • Onion2 large
  • water2 cups
  • Tumeric1/2 teaspoon
  • Mixmasala1 Tablespoon
  • Ghee 3 Tablespoons
  • Yogurt or coconut milk1/2 cup
  • Saltto taste
  • Red Chili powder 1 Tablespoon



Instructions

  • Blend well the tomatoes, onion in blender.
  • Wash the lentils well, add 4 cups of water, some salt the tomato onion puree, masala, tumeric, chili powder and cook the lentils in a pressure cooker  for 5 minutes or until Dal is done.
  • Add the yogurt and mix well.
  • On low heat cook it for 5 minutes and keep stir it.
  • In a pan, heat the oil, then add grated garlic and cook to lightly brown.  Add the cooked garlic to lentil.
  • Ready to serve.
